Energy Performance Contracting

Trident Energy Services works on behalf of states as an advocate for public agencies implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects through energy performance contracting (EPC).

Why Energy Performance Contracting is Useful to Public Agencies

Energy performance contracting is a funding mechanism used to pay for efficiency and renewable energy improvements. Once the efficiency projects are implemented, the savings from reduced utility bills and operation and maintenance costs will pay for the upgrades.

Agencies can choose to fund EPC projects with a lease purchase agreement or other financing mechanism or agencies can self fund EPC projects from capital or other budgets. If used in conjunction with additional funding sources such as grants and low or no interest loans the scope of the capital improvements can increase.
